“But the path of the just is as the shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day!” (Proverbs 4:18) In other words, the Christian life is all about MOVEMENT!! When God is in charge our lives will get richer and richer, fuller and fuller, sweeter and sweeter, better and better and as a result our lights will shine brighter and brighter!! But it does take the experiences on the mountain top and the most uncomfortable valleys in order for our lives to be decorated with the fullness of the Almighty! And the ups and downs save us from being stale Christians with no life, no vitality, no flavor, no experience and ultimately no testimony!

Okay…so sometimes we have to embrace the valleys! The last year or so has been one of my most difficult. My home in Springfield, Illinois was being unlawfully entered on a fairly regular basis. Interestingly enough, when the tragedy happened in my home and marriage nearly 7 years ago and I found myself living alone, my home was unlawfully entered, bugged and things were taken. This was completely terrifying for a woman living alone. As a result I moved to Springfield, Illinois, the city where my daughter, Alyssa, was residing. She lived with me for the two years that followed. Still yet, there were some evidences of bugging. Occasionally the doors would be unlocked when I awoke in the morning.

Over one year ago the problems escalated to the point where break-ins were evident on a regular basis. I filed a number of police reports. Finally one police officer encouraged me to get a gun. I concluded from this advice that they were very limited in what they could do when this type of harassment is happening. I did not have the funds to hire a private investigator to expose who was behind it all. Through a number of experiences I felt that there was more than one person involved in the break-ins. I perceived that my phones were bugged, my computer monitored and my car had some kind of device which alerted “them” when I was away from home. There was theft, vandalism and silent threats. It was BAD! I finally concluded I had to move, which is a major enterprise. But even in this very BAD situation the Lord graciously took care of me. Church members began to spend the night at my home every night for the last seven months I was in my home. The Lord provided help with the packing. Friends offered helpful advice and encouragement, and by God’s grace, my home was sold!

God’s grace marvelously continued. A dear friend offered me a place to stay in the country of Norway. I did have concerns that this cyber and psychological warfare could continue wherever I might move in America at this particular time of my life. I cannot point fingers as to who is behind it all, but I have a very good idea why this has been happening. Also, through much prayer and meditation I discerned that the Lord wanted me to make the move. In fact, the Lord made it clear to me I was in danger. That’s all I needed to get me to start packing.

Sometimes the Lord uses adverse circumstances to move us where He wants us to be. Norway is a lovely country with fresh air, clean water, and the Hand of God is beautifully carved out in nature. Although I am still a big believer in using the media to spread the Word of God to the world, the Lord has laid on my heart that now is the season in my life for writing…so that is my “main thing” right now. Today, as I am writing to you, the morning sun is shining through the window. The night air has made the grass white with frost. The tall pine trees reach for the heavens, pointing the way to our heavenly home. Occasionally the deer and the moose venture out into the field adding much to the scene. It is a great setting for writing!

I must apologize to you all for neglecting to report regularly on my website this last year. When personal safety becomes an issue priorities quickly change. Interestingly enough, the pastors of the two churches in Springfield moved leaving the churches without a pastor. Although my life was eventful to say the least, I was invited to give the morning sermon a number of times at both of these churches before I moved. It was a BLESSING! I very much delight in sharing about the goodness of God! The Lord has been so gracious to me and given me an abundance of rich experiences in my lifetime which has evolved into a unique perspective and a bigger burden for souls. I look forward to new opportunities that I can share with you from this region of the world. It will undoubtedly be exciting!! STAY TUNED!!

I want to publically give a BIG THANK YOU to Dr. Arild Abrahamsen, a Seventh day Adventist physician. The incredible amount of stress I had to endure, during the circumstances which I could not control in my life, resulted in some major health problems. I wanted to deal with these problems using natural means. The Lord has given Dr. Abrahamsen a method for healing which is unique in the medical world. He tests patients with a computer, which attests to its accuracy. He also prescribes with the computer. Over the years he has personally developed combinations of natural substances including iodine, B12, magnesium and other vitamins and minerals. He has found that these combinations given in an IV form are extremely effective in treating a host of physical ailments. In fact, he has helped cure many people who traditional doctors are not able to help. Dr. Abrahamsen, over the last few years, has very much helped my health problems, and has become a good friend. GOD IS SO GOOD to send faithful friends at just the right moment. I think I can safely say, with no exaggeration, that God has used Dr. Abrahamsen to save my life!

Have you noticed that there are a lot of broken things described in the Bible? Here are just a few of them. Judges 7:19 says, “So Gideon and the hundred men that were with him came to the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch and they had but newly set the watch and they blew the trumpets and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. {In this Bible story the pitchers were symbolic of themselves. When they broke the pitchers the lights shone brightly which frightened the army that outnumbered them by many thousands and they won the battle.} But it all began when the pitchers were broken.

Another breakage is described in Mark 14:3 where it says, “And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious, and she broke the box and poured it on Jesus head.” {This box of oil was so valuable the woman put her life savings into purchasing it. Yet she broke it and gave her all as she anointed Jesus. The result was that the testimony of this act has been preached around the world, and has been recorded in the book of books, the Bible! The broken alabaster box was just a symbol of this woman’s heart which had been broken so Jesus could have first place.

Another incident in the Bible where something was broken is the story of how Jesus fed the 5000. He broke the bread in pieces and as a result thousands found strength and nourishment. The Bible also speaks of the broken body which Jesus gave so freely for you and me. The result of this great sacrifice was the gift of salvation offered to the whole world. Good things come out of broken things!! It helps us to understand why God allows us to experience the valleys as well as the mountain tops. Someone once said it like this “God doesn’t want us to be like vases of glass or porcelain. He wants us to be not hothouse plants, but storm-beaten oaks, not dunes driven with every gust of wind, but granite rocks withstanding the fiercest storms. To make us such He needs to take us to His testing room of suffering. It is very easy for us to speak and theorize about faith, but God often casts us into the fiery furnace to try our gold and to separate the dross. Oh, happy are we if the hurricanes that ripple life’s sea have the effect of making Jesus more precious!! Better the storm with Christ than smooth waters without Him.”

Good things come out of broken things, but God has to have all the pieces. I believe with all my heart that if we give God our broken pieces that God will make something awesome out of the broken pieces of our lives and He’ll make us lights that bring victory just like in the story of Gideon and his army. And our lives will be a sweet perfume to the world just like the woman who broke the alabaster box and anointed Jesus. And if we give God all the broken pieces He will use them to give strength and nourishment to others just like when He broke the bread and fed the 5000. This is not just a bunch of pretty words either because God gives us His Word that He will do this. In Joel 2:25 God says, “And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten, the hopping locust, the stripping locust and the crawling locust...” God gives us a mental picture here of how circumstances and events in our lives can leave us totally empty and barren, just like a whole plague of locusts that come and clean out a field. But God says “I’m going to restore and replace those years that the locust has eaten, I’m going to take those broken places and build something beautiful out of them.” But once again God says, “I have to have all of the pieces.” It’s our job to GIVE God totally and completely our broken pieces and then it’s God’s job to RESTORE and rebuild us and make something beautiful out of our lives.

I have meditated about how the Lord can take false accusations, divorce, worldwide slander, scandal, heartbreak, family crisis and more and make it a beautiful thing. Quite frankly, it looks hopeless. But folks, I BELIEVE!! I believe our Lord delights in doing the impossible, the incredible and the magnificent!! I believe He HAS BEEN and IS doing this now! Some miracles take years to reveal themselves…but it seems when they emerge they are so special that the time that has elapsed seems to fade into the background. This is my prayer... for an outpouring of His Spirit, for healing, for restoration and for creation to begin again in all of us!!
What they say about us!

This site has been a great resource for me. The ease of use, wide variety of information, as well as the great layout are a refreshing change to the standard, bulky sites I have used in the past. Here I am able to find everything I need in one site, without spending hours sifting through little bits of information across the Internet. This has led to improving my own productivity, because I spend far less time searching all over the place for the content I need. I definitely see a strong future for this site and will continue to use it for my needs.
