Sheep graze the pastures, hundred year old orchards, and tidelands
of Mutiny Bay Farm much as their ancestors foraged in their native
England for centuries. Tucked away in the far northwest corner of
the United States lies an enchanting secret place called Whidbey
Island. Land meets water in the center of the bay, and then climbs
a steep bank to open up into pastures of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep.
This breed of sheep was chosen for their hardy self-reliance, superb
foraging abilities, beauty of wool and temperament.

Island has long growing seasons necessary for raising varieties
of field grasses and crops. The salty waters of the Strait of Juan
de Fuca roll into Mutiny Bay, warming the air and environment This
creates a climate necessary for the diversity of plant and animal
life native to the Island. With the least amount of interference,
and without chemicals or food additives, the sheep are allowed to
flock and graze from upper pastures to lakelands, from the salt
water's edge to the fruit groves. We have not only selected sheep
from the best genetics to ensure the health of the flocks, we have
provided the habitat to ensure hardiness and longevity. Each year
we select a number of sheep and lambs from our flocks and offer
them for sale.
