Darbina Pandoru Linux atvērtā koda (Open Source) operētājsistēmu. Programmēšanas rīki šai konsolei ir bezmaksas un ikviens var brīvi izstrādāt un izlaist sistēmai paredzētas spēles. Īpašas pazīmes - Klaviatūra, Divi analogie kontroleri pluss krustiņš un visas emulatoriem nepieciešamās pogas. </p>
<p>Pandora izmanto Linux. Izstrādātāja rīki ir bezmaksas un ikviens var brīvi un bez maksas izstrādāt un izlaist sistēmai paredzētas spēles un programmas, kā arī bez maksas ir pieejamas Open Pandora piemērotas Linux open source progmmas ko pierasts satapt uz lielajiem galda datoriem, piemēram FireFox interneta pārlūks, Ofisa programmas, Video plaijeri, Grafiskie redaktori utt. </p>
<p>Viens no populārākajiem Pandora lietošanas veidiem ir vecu videospēļu sistēmu emulatoru izmantošana (iespējams emulēt arī vecos mājas datorus un skaitļošanas ierīces). Pandora platforma ir piemērota šim uzdevumam , jo tai ir standarta vadības sistēmas izkārtojums, kas līdzīgs (vai gandrīz identisks) to ievades ierīču izkārtojumam, kurus tā emulē. Turklāt tai ir LCD izšķirtspēja 800x480, kas ir pietiekami liela, lai derētu lielākajai daļai veco sistēmu bez jebkādiem ierobežojumiem. Šī platforma arī ir portatīva. <h4>Ko Pandora var emulēt </h4>

Tāpat iespējams arī emulēt dažas 32 bitu konsoles, tiesa ar dažādiem rezultātiem. Tas gan nenozīmē, ka visu, kas pastāvējis pirms šī brīža būs iespējams emulēt, jo pastāv ļoti daudz dažādu nezināmu ierīču, kā arī daudz dažādu sarežģītu ierīču, kuras ir ļoti grūti emulējamas vai tās nav iespējams emulēt vispār. Tas nozīmē, ka pastāv desmitiem tūkstošu, iespējams pat simtiem tūkstošu spēļu, kuras var spēlēt uz Pandora konsoles, ja jums ir atbilstošā programmatūra. </p>
<h4><a name="Core"></a>Kodols </h4>
<p>Pandora izmanto Texas Instruments OMAP 3530 System-on-Chip (Siztēma uz Čipa). Tas iekļauj ARM Cortex-A8 procesoru, C64X programmējamu DSP, PowerVR SGX 530 3D grafisko paātrinātāju un atbalsta komponentus. </p>
