<p>Many of you might remember that in 2009 and 2010 we added a very special challenge to the Pink Slipper project. We provided filled Christmas Stockings to many children that would be spending Christmas in a domestic violence shelter.</p>
<p>This year (2011) we're doing it again. Since we're getting such a late start I've already chosen a shelter in Maine (near Rachel) and then will add general gender and ages for our local shelters. We will find a welcome home for every single stocking and then some! This is one of our favorite challenges!</p>
<p>We'll also provide slippers and care kits for the moms this year.  We have a lot to do in 6 weeks!</p>

<p>Ideas for filling stocking: Gift Cards, Small toys, Books, Puzzles, Puzzle Books, Music CDs, Toiletries, Art supplies, Hats, Mittens, Jewelry, Cosmetics, Hair accessories, Christmas Candy, Hair brush, Small arts and craft kits, bath puff, bath products, etc. Just try and make sure that what you fill the stocking with is age appropriate. This is a wonderful thing that you're doing. Just imagine the child opening your stocking on Christmas morning. Imagine the joy and excitement.<strong> Just follow your heart and the stocking will be perfect.</strong></p>
<p>Please do not wrap the items that you purchase to fill the stockings. The moms will need to see what is inside and then they can wrap if they'd like to wrap.</p>

<p><span style="color: #ff007f;">Whether you are making a rag stocking for a Pink Slipper challenge, or using it for your own holiday decor, I think you'll agree that the rag stocking is super easy to make and super cute.</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff007f;">Start with your favorite stocking pattern or sketch a simple stocking pattern. Ours is 21" from cuff to toe and 17 1/2 " from cuff to heel. (unfinished) 19 1/2" - 15" (Finished)</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #ff007f;">CUT 2 - Primary Fabric</span><br /><span style="color: #ff007f;">CUT 2 - Coordinating Lining Fabric</span><br /><span style="color: #ff007f;">CUT 2 - Batting</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">It's been a very unusual fall for us here at Pink Slipper Project. I ended up having unexpected Spinal Surgery and an even more unexpected and long recovery. It happened to all fall into a time frame when another wonderful charity AC4C had us on their calendar to help us with slippers, meeting some very large challenges. As luck would have it, My laptop computer, the one I use for PSP started to act up. I started moving pics off of it to another computer before it died. MAC genius bar confirmed it's fate. Many Pictures of your slippers did not get moved and were already shipped.<br /></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Thankfully I had some pictures moved and have been able to get those pics up. Many were not as lucky. We are dropping the laptop at the genius bar in hopes to get a new motherboard and video card in it this week, but have little hope of finding all those pics waiting for me. If so, I will get them posted right away.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 11pt;">In the meantime, The list below are the AC4C contributors that I am aware of. Rachel Terrill (AC4C coordinator) has had her hands full with me. But none of these mishaps are her fault. I guess I can't even blame the surgeon or apple computers!</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Below, you will see a list of AC4C contributors that I am aware of. Some may have already been posted before the computer died. So have a look through our category of contributors and see if you happen to see your name. In the meantime I'll post the rest of the pics that I saved and I'll thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and kindness. Whether we have a picture or not, you're kindness has made a difference to a woman/women or a child/children this holiday season, and that's what really counts the most.</span></strong></p>
