<p>Are you a solid writer, web-surfer, and fan of video game music? SquareSound is looking for a talented individual or two to help keep content fresh on our site. Specifically, we're looking for people to write regular news articles about happenings in the Japanese video game music industry. If you're knowledgeable about Square Enix games, composers, and music, follow the concert scene, and have solid writing skills, we'd love to hear from you!</p>
<h3>Basic Requirements</h3>

<li>Solid writing skills (HTML is also a plus)</li>
<li>Interest and knowledge of Square Enix music and game music in general</li>
<li>Knowledge of relevant video game music websites</li>
<li>Ability to accurately and concisely summarize information into original and interesting articles</li>
<li>Knowledge of Twitter and Facebook in order to effectively spread the word about the articles</li>
<li>Time and motivation to write at least 1-2 articles per week for exclusive use on SquareSound.com</li>

<h3>What's in it for me?</h3>
<p>Excellent work will be rewarded with cash and/or items from our web store. In addition, you'll have some great resume material. One of our past editors leveraged her writing skills at SquareSound and other publications into a full-time gig at IGN!</p>

If you are able to send samples of previous writing projects you've done on the web, that would be helpful. If not, write a brief sample article about a relevant topic in the video game music industry. We're not too picky about having a lot of experience as long as the work is of good quality.</p>

<h2><a href="http://www.squaresound.com/news/the-new-squaresound-is-live">The New SquareSound is Live!</a></h2>
<p>After months upon months of preparation, the newly redesigned SquareSound site has finally launched. Although the change in appearance and layout is the most prominent difference, there are a few other things that have changed. We've tried to focus on interactivity with the new site.</p>
<p>Here's a rundown of what's new:</p>
<ul>
<li>The <a href="http://www.squaresound.com/fan-arrangements">Arrangement Archive</a> has fully migrated over to our <a href="http://www.squaresound.com/forums/forum.php">forums</a>. This change allows users to post their own arrangements, and makes it easy for the arranger and other forum members to discuss and interact with each other. Since some arrangers have moved on, we've been unable to migrate all arrangements over from our old system, so it is still online for reference.</li>
</ul>

<li>We've added a new <a href="http://www.squaresound.com/forums/media.php">video archive</a>. Actually, this archive has been around for a while, it has just been under-utilized and not well publicized. This is a great place to share videos relating to video game music, whether you'd like to post your <a href="http://www.squaresound.com/forums/media.php?do=category&cid=2">musical performances</a>, an <a href="http://www.squaresound.com/forums/media.php?do=category&cid=2">interview with a video game composer</a>, or anything else video game music related. We've also added a link to <a href="http://www.youtube.com/squaresoundcom">our YouTube channel</a>, which is being updated regularly with new piano performances from the <a href="http://shop.squaresound.com/sheet-music-books">sheet music books</a> we carry.</li>

<li>We've updated and revamped our store to include all the latest Music CDs and Sheet Music Books from Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, Super Mario Bros., and many more. The new software also allows us to post videos on each product, and we're hard at work adding videos that demonstrate samples from all our sheet music books and CDs. We've also hired a translator to fill in the tables of contents for the books where it's missing.</li>
</ul>
<p>A lot of this is a work in process, but we're working hard to get everything done. Drop us a line to let you know of the new design and offer us any feedback you might have. With the demise of Game Music Online, SquareSound becomes one of the only remaining United States-based stores to service the video game music niche.
