UNDERWATER TIMED RELEASE:</b>
<P>
This timed release is micro controller based using the "burn" wire principle with
replaceable link. System includes a programmer to set the time to
initiation of release, check battery
status, link contact, and verify time to release.

<b>
FULL FEATURED ACOUSTIC RELEASE:</b><P>Full featured AR-60 acoustic release system is
micro controller based using the "burn" wire principle with a replaceable link.
System includes a topside interrogator to send an
acoustic signal down to the release. More than 4000 codes are available
with each release unit having a specific code. Release is effected by the rapid electrolytic
erosion of small pieces of stainless steel. The basic design eliminates
the mechanical moving parts of other release systems thereby enhancing the
reliability. <P><BR>
The full featured AR-60 system is
designed to be as reliable as possible while still attempting to keep the cost
relatively low. It features a link connection that uses a bolt, lock washer,
and nut to secure a reliable link contact. It has no internal connectors with
the exception of one gold plated socket for firmware. It does not have a motor shaft penetrating the pressure
housing and subject to leaking or binding from grit. It has no
mechanical leverage on the outside subject to fouling (biological or man made
such as a stray line). It uses a triple O-ring seal at the battery access end
plug. It uses a special battery holder for 12 standard AA size
cells. Each cell has a diode across it so that if any one, two, or even
three of the 12 cells fail to maintain contact or otherwise fail the diodes will
take over and keep the voltage high enough for operation to
continue.

<b>
LOW COST ACOUSTIC RELEASE:</b>
<P>The lowest cost AR-50 acoustic release system is micro controller based using
the "burn" wire principle with a replaceable link. System includes a topside interrogator to send an
acoustic signal down to the release. More than 4000 codes are available
with each release having a specific code. The basic design eliminates
the mechanical moving parts of other release systems thereby enhancing the
reliability. <P><BR>
The lowest cost AR-50 system has the advantage of quick link change design, smaller size,
and lower cost. It has the disadvantage that it cannot be
interrogated for slant range or battery
status. Also when replacing the link it is imperative that an
O-ring be installed between the new link and the electrical contact.
Failure to do this could result in erosion of the contact and irreparable damage
to the unit.
