<p>Pets lost during the recent Midwest tornadoes are beginning to emerge from rubble, likely in search of food and their owners. Dogs, cats, horses, cattle, rabbits and even chickens are being rescued and taken to shelters where they are treated for injuries. Attempts are being made to find their owners.</p>
<p>Animal rescue groups have also been gathering food across the state for pets and beyond."It's not only for dogs and cats, but horses, cattle, rabbits, chickens, any kind of farm animals. There's a great need for food," said volunteer Trish Roehm.</p>
<p>Shelters are working together and using Facebook to post pictures of lost pets in hopes of reuniting them with their families.</p>

<p>How many pets are online?  How many pet owners are tweeting and Facebooking for their cats and dogs?  How many pets have a YouTube page?  A new <a href="http://blog.ebayclassifieds.com/2012/01/16/social-savvy-critters/" target="_blank">infographic from eBay Classifieds</a> reveals that Fido and Fluffy are hitting the social web a lot more often than you may think!<br /> <br /> The ‘Social Savvy Critters’ infographic reveals that 14 percent of dog owners maintain a Facebook page for their pet, 6 percent tweet for their dogs on Twitter, and a whopping 27 percent have their own YouTube page!</p>
<p>In addition to providing stats about how many pets are online, the infographic also offers up some advice for pet owners looking to get their furry friends online.  They provide 8 Twitter tips for dogs, tips on creating a blog from your pet’s perspective, and a list of pet-related social networks:</p>

Baby Sloths" premiers this <strong>Saturday, December 17th at 8pm EST</strong> on Animal Planet. The film (and trailer below) features lots of baby Sloths, the residents of <a href="http://www.slothsanctuary.com/" target="_self">The Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica</a>, the world's only Sloth sanctuary. Most are orphans whose mothers have been killed by power lines or cars. These orphans have a new, if slightly unconventional mom in celebrated Sloth whisperer Judy Arroyo.</p>
