Valentine Surfacing Co. was formed in 1978 with the purchase of a PR 750 Rotomill.
The development of the milling machine had made the removal of aged or deteriorated asphalt concrete
roadways an econonomic and viable construction practice. The costs and
availability of asphalt led to efforts to recycle the removed material;
however, the logistics, cost and other problems did not and still has
not allowed the full use of these valuable materials when efforts are
made to recycle them through a hot plant.

Click here to view our video from
"Champions of Industry" seen recently on the
Discovery Channel.

The Founder,
Charlie Valentine, had the foresight and innovative instinct to develop
and construct what has come to be known as a COLD IN-PLACE RECYCLING TRAIN.
The train allowed 100 percent of the material to be recycled in place
which dramatically reduced hauling costs and increased production rates.
Environmental problems normally associated with hot plant recycling and
hot in-place recycling are nonexistent with the cold
in-place recycling process. Natural resources in the form of virgin
aggregates and energy in the form of fuel to run hot plants or hot in-place
recycle plants are conserved with the cold in-place recycle process.

Over the
years this process has continued to be an accepted method of rehabilitation
by numerous federal, state, county, and city agencies. All eleven western
states that Valentine Surfacing Co. services specify cold in-place
recycling. At the present time, there are over 40 Cold-In Place Recycle
Trains in existence throughout the United States and Canada. Valentine
Surfacing Co. has recycled in excess of 6,000 lane miles and is widely
recognized as a leader in developing this process as an accepted method
of rehabilitating roads and airports. We are committed to extending our
knowledge and experience to all that have the need to preserve and enhance
a roadway system.

Because of
its involvement in the road rehabilitation industry and its extensive
array of equipment which includes nine Rotomills, three reclaimer/stabilizers,
and four cold in-place recycling trains, Valentine Surfacing Co.
is well positioned to satisfy engineer's technical questions as well as
perform high quality work. In recent years, we have entered into the full
depth reclamation market with the purchase of three CMI RS-650 reclaimer/stabilizers.
This enables us to provide a broader range of services to our clients
and has led to our recent entry in the soil stabilization market. Because
of many similarities in full depth reclamation and soil stabilization
work, it has been a very natural step for Valentine Surfacing Co.
We have gained valuable experience in the full depth reclamation field
in working with different additives such as lime slurry, cement, lime/fly
ash, and emulsions, which lends itself very well to the soil
stabilization field as well. The equipment utilized in both processes
is virtually the same so our reputation for well maintained, high production
equipment remains an important element.

Valentine
Surfacing Co. is the leader in asphalt
recycling and rehabilitation. Call us to take advantage of our technical
expertise and high quality work. When you hire Valentine, you hire the
best.
