<p>ZeGraph is an open-source freeware designed for scientific data visualization. It is small, fast, and easy to use.
The core library is written in C++ for high performance, using <a href="http://www.opengl.org">OpenGL</a>
as the rendering engine. <a href="developer.html">Jiye Zeng</a> developed
ZeGraph as a personal library to overcome difficulties encountered in 3D data
visualization in his environmental research works.</p>
<p>ZeGraph library can be linked to your C/C++ program directly. The developer has embedded ZeGraph in <a href="z-script/index.html">ZeScript</a>. Here are some features of ZeGraph: </p>
<ul>
<li>Make 2D or 3D scientific plots;</li>
<li>Save offscreen image to various image formats;</li>
<li>Send offscreen image to client's web browser in online application;</li>
<li>Render images to GIF animations;</li>
<li>Use an offscreen image directly as texture;</li>
<li>Output to window for display or animation; </li>
</ul>
<p><a href="z-script/index.html">ZeScript</a>
is easy to extend. It has a powerful feature allowing redefinition of all operators for user objects, which makes it possible, for example, to handle matrix naturally like these: a[i,j]=b; c=a[i,j]; a[a>0]=0; and etc. Several library extentions have been added to </p>
<ul>
<li>Create simple graphic user interfaces; </li>
<li>Manipulate data matrix; </li>
<li>Read and write binary data in various formats, e.g., <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GRIB">GRIB</a>, <a href="http://my.unidata.ucar.edu/content/software/netcdf/index.html">netCDF</a>, and <a href="http://hdf.ncsa.uiuc.edu/">HDF</a>.</li>
<li>Use databases.</li>
</ul>
<p>Now the software is being used by <a href="http://db.cger.nies.go.jp/metex/">METEX</a> web application server to handle SOAP and CGI requests.</p>
